PURPOSE

Ensure that the performance management and talent management conforms to best practice within the sector

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF STRATEGY
  • Ensure that the performance management conforms to best practice within the division.
  • BUSINESS OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY
  • Ensure optimal utilization of facilities, in order to ensure viability and cost-effectiveness
  • Accurate office administration in accordance with instructions and relevant SOP's/procedures
  • Effective coordination and scheduling of facilities / resources in accordance with relevant SOP's.
  • Responsible for Freelance processing and payments in accordance with SABC policy
  • Coordinate projects/productions and logistics arrangements (incl. travelling & accommodation) and provision of accurate information to customers and team members
  • Ensure accurate and in-time completion of job cards
  • Update records on material management system
  • Collect and submit information/ statistics for monthly reports
  • Complete records on all project correspondence to be easily retrievable/ accessible
  • Ensure total quality control, in order to deliver on agreed technical standards
  • Ensure successful project completion as per project timelines, scope and budget and appropriately address non-conformance
  • Provide Technical/Operational Support & Advice
  • Monitor full compliance with agreed planned & preventative equipment/ facility maintenance schedule
  • Monitor in time and accurate submission of fault/ incident reports
  • Update documentation of equipment/vehicle service /repair history in order to determine functionality, reliability and cost
  • Monthly monitoring of actual versus planned overtime and appropriate action to address anomalies
  • GOVERNANCE, RISK AND COMPLIANCE
  • Ensure adherence to ITU and ICASA standards
  • Develop, review and implement policies and good governance to address gaps and promote accountability.
  • Ensure that all contracts comply with internal policies and prescripts.
  • Monitor overtime and kilometer claims in accordance with SABC policy
  • Ensure accurate personnel and leave administration in accordance with SABC policy
  • Attend to grievances, queries and complaints resolved in accordance with SABC Labour Policy
  • Monitoring of compliance in line with risks identified.
  • STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
  • Ongoing liaison and communication with customers to address production needs
  • Communicate, monitor and control strict adherence to allocated link resource time-slots during production
  • In time allocation of links in accordance with customer requirements
  • Provide Technical/Operational Support & Advice
  • Attend to all customer queries/ complaints
  • Accurately determine customer requirement and set up of broadcast equipment to meet requirements
  • Proper communication /liaison/ coordination with production team in order to align /optimize broadcast
  • LEADERSHIP AND PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
  • Staff supervision
  • Compliance with performance management policies and procedures
  • Effective briefing and communication with department staff.
  • Personal Development Plans (PDP) for all staff members.
  • Individual coaching, counselling and mentoring conducted on an on-going basis to meet performance needs.
  • Effective and efficient utilization of team members to ensure delivery
  • Identify capable/ skilled permanent staff in line with SOP's
  • Development in accordance with Career Plans
  • Ongoing and accurate identification of development needs
  • Competent transfer of identified skills & knowledge in accordance with job mentoring best practice
  • FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
  • Coordinate budget activities to fund operations and increase financial efficiency in Human Resources
  • Co-ordinate and consolidate short and long-term HR financial reporting.
INHERENT/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE
  • At least 6 years post diploma experience in broadcast environment
KNOWLEDGE

Technical/ Operational Administration, e.g. report writing, shift reports, fault reports, transmission reports

Good understanding of equipment & facilities within broadcasting production environment

Advanced understanding of customer requirements

Providing Technical/Operational Support & Advice

Coordinating Maintenance of Facilities & Equipment

Managing Workshop

Developing a Disaster Recovery / Contingency Plan

Knowledge and understanding of SABC Financial Policy/Procedures

Knowledge and understanding of SABC HR Policy/Procedures

Knowledge and understanding of SABC Procurement Policy/Procedures

Knowledge and understanding of ScheduAll

Knowledge and understanding of SAP

Technical/ Operational Administration, e.g. shift reports, fault reports
