A leading private higher education institution in South Africa is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Call Centre Operator to join the Student Recruitment team at their in Waterfall (Midrand) branch. This role plays a key part in supporting prospective students through the early stages of their academic journey. The successful candidates will be responsible for engaging with prospective students telephonically, providing information on available programmes, and assisting in converting leads into applications.

  • Make initial telephonic contact with prospective students within 24 hours of receiving a lead.
  • Determine whether prospective students meet the minimum entry requirements.
  • Recommend suitable alternative programmes where entry requirements are not met.
  • Discuss programme offerings and provide accurate course information.
  • Capture and maintain prospective student information on the database.
  • Book consultations for Student Advisors.
  • Respond to prospective student queries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Inform prospective students of application and registration deadlines.
  • Conduct confirmation calls and reschedule appointments where required.
  • Maintain accurate activity records on the internal system.
  • Support the achievement of lead-to-application conversion targets.
Telesales & Student Engagement

  • Assist with administrative and marketing-related tasks as required.
  • Support Student Advisors with post-application processes such as collecting documentation and payments.
  • Capture and maintain accurate database records.
Minimum Requirements Qualifications
  • Matric (essential)
  • A relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous but is not required.
Experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in sales, administration, marketing, customer service, or telemarketing.
Key Competencies
  • Excellent telephone communication skills and a professional manner.
  • High level of accuracy in typing and data capturing.
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to build rapport with prospective students.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Working Hours
  • Monday - Friday: 08:00 - 17:00
