Job Description

Icebolethu Burial Services, a subsidiary of Icebolethu Group, is currently in search of suitable candidates to fill the position of Burials Administrator 2 located in Selby, Johannesburg. The position(s) are available on a permanent basis within the Burials Department, a Division of Icebolethu Group. The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks and responsibilities supporting the burial team's activities.

Qualifications, experience and Competencies Minimum Qualifications.
  • Grade 12
  • Computer Literacy in MS Office Suite
  • Diploma/Certificate in Business Administration, Office Management, or a relevant field is preferred
Skills and Experience required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years in administration, records management, or customer service
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Prior experience working in a public facing role requiring empathy and discretion
  • Proven ability to deal with distressed or grieving clients

Responsibilities Required.
  • Provide empathetic, respectful, and professional support to families throughout the burial process
  • Ensure client satisfaction through follow up calls and continuous service improvement
  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance in line with company uniform policy
  • Keep burial registers, body lists, and grave records accurate and up to date
  • File and maintain all documents in line with company record keeping standards
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, SOPs, and service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Prepare and manage delivery schedules for burials, memorials, and other services
  • Work closely with grounds teams and internal stakeholders (e.g., Lillies, Design, Warehouse, Funeral Planning Unit) to ensure smooth funeral preparations
  • Manage cash and scheme funeral arrangements in line with company policies
  • Participate in one on one meetings with line managers
  • Engage in performance appraisals to assess progress and identify development needs
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to enhance service delivery
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
