BSL Teacher
Job Description
Remedy Education is currently recruiting for a qualified BSL Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school in Woodford. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with deaf and hearing impaired pupils, supporting their communication, learning and development in a specialist educational environment.
The school is looking for a confident and experienced teacher who can deliver engaging lessons while using British Sign Language (BSL) to support pupils' access to the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lessons using British Sign Language (BSL) to support deaf and hearing impaired pupils
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of pupils with additional learning needs
- Work closely with support staff, teaching assistants and the SEN team
- Promote inclusive learning and positive classroom engagement
- Monitor and track pupil progress to ensure strong educational outcomes
- Support pupils' communication, confidence and independence
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
- BSL qualification (Level 2 or above preferred)
- Experience working with deaf or hearing impaired students
- Strong understanding of inclusive and differentiated teaching practices
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
