Introduction

ARE YOU OUR NEXT BRANCH MANAGER? The Branch Manager will play a pivotal role in the effective and efficient management and operation of their branch. They will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of branch operations, ensuring adherence to targets, budgets, and high standards of service delivery.

Core Focus Areas
  • Performance Management: Ensure the branch is performing against agreed targets and budgets, managing costs effectively to optimise operational efficiency.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain a daily focus on operations to drive excellence and efficiency, coordinating all activities within the site effectively.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Oversee the accuracy and completeness of all paperwork, ensuring adherence to procedures for purchase orders, stock management, POD Management, etc.
  • Reporting: Prompt completion of all relevant reports related to distribution activities, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Asset Management: Act as custodian of all assets with the branch, ensuring effective communication and management of assets among branch employees.
  • Customer Service: Ensure the highest levels of customer care and service, reflecting the company's commitment to excellence in all interactions.
  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain branch operations, employees, and products in compliance with safety standards and occupational health and safety legislation.
  • Personnel Management: Monitor staffing needs, address personnel issues promptly, motivate staff, and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Policy Communication: Effectively communicate company policies and procedures to all branch employees.
  • Logistics Oversight: Oversee all linehauls/cargo received and dispatched, as well as dispatching/receiving processes for all routes.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct random checks on daily deliveries to ensure accuracy, and ensure routine alcohol tests are conducted on drivers as per regulations.
  • Disciplinary Procedures: Address disciplinary issues promptly and in accordance with company policies and relevant legislation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess routes and branch operations for optimization, providing regular feedback and reports on branch status.
  • Maintenance: Ensure branch and fleet maintenance is carried out promptly and effectively, maintaining operational readiness at all times.
  • KPI Management: Ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are met, providing feedback and implementing strategies for improvement as necessary.
  • Financial Management: Responsible for P&L management and providing feedback on financial performance.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain general housekeeping standards to ensure a professional and aesthetic appearance of the branch.
  • Staff Development: Ensure staff induction is conducted continuously, fostering a culture of learning and development within the branch.
  • Technology Adoption: Ensure adoption, conformance, and completeness of all deliveries using the OnRoute system or any other designated technology.
Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience (5 years) as a Branch manager in the logistics industry or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, compliance standards, and safety protocols.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Available to be called out at any hour of the day or night to assist with situations
  • Able to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
