Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join the Lorraine, Port Elizabeth team.

• Maintain the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Record and process financial transactions accurately in Sage Pastel Accounting.
• Perform monthly reconciliations including: Bank reconciliations, Supplier reconciliations, Customer account reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure all accounts are properly reconciled.
• Manage supplier invoices and payment processes.
• Prepare supplier payment runs.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate creditor records and ensure timely payments.
• Manage invoicing and debtor accounts.
• Monitor outstanding accounts and assist with credit control processes.
• Reconcile debtor accounts and follow up on overdue payments where required.
• Process monthly payroll using Sage Pastel Payroll.
• Calculation of commission.
• Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, wages, deductions, and benefits.
• Process leave, overtime, and commission payments where applicable.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files.
• Ensure compliance with South African statutory requirements including: (SARS) submissions, VAT calculations and submissions, and PAYE, UIF, and SDL reporting.
• Prepare and submit EMP201 and EMP501 returns where required.

• Relevant bookkeeping or accounting certification (advantageous).
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior bookkeeping role.
• Proven experience working with: Sage Pastel Accounting and Sage Pastel Payroll.
• Experience preparing accounts up to trial balance.
• Experience with payroll processing and statutory submissions.
