A well-established NPO based in Pretoria North is seeking a qualified and experienced Bookkeeper / Accountant to join its finance team. This hybrid position requires 1-2 days per week in the office, with flexibility to work remotely on the remaining days. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional who is passionate about maintaining financial integrity, ensuring compliance, and supporting sound financial decision-making within a purpose-driven organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheets, and management reports
- Manage debtors, creditors, and bank reconciliations
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations
- Develop and implement effective internal controls
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning
- Support internal and external audit processes
- Provide training and guidance to bookkeeping and administrative staff
- Maintain strong organisational and time management standards
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3-5 years' relevant experience in a financial environment
- Experience working on accounting software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
- Hybrid working model (1-2 days in-office per week)
