Biology Lab Assistant (For Current SCC Students Only)

Exciting opportunity for hands-on lab experience! This position supports the smooth operation of laboratory and teaching activities within the Science Division.
Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours to qualify for the FWS Program
This is a part-time opportunity. Students may work up to 15 hours per week, depending on their unmet need on their FAFSA.

This listing is intended for students that will attend Surry Community College during the academic year and have need determined by the federal government. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis position involves general lab and stockroom maintenance; including tidying and assisting instructors with preparing class demonstrations, documents, and procedures. Duties may also include maintaining a clean and organized lab area and equipment, preparing solutions for weekly experiments, documents/handouts, and writing questions for the online question bank.
General QualificationsApplicant must be at least 16 years or older.
Required QualificationsApplicant must have taken at least one semester of biology, chemistry, or a related discipline. Applicant must have the ability to work 5 or more hours per week and maintain a consistent schedule.
Physical DemandsApplicant must have the ability to lift at least 10 pounds.
Work Area is located in the T- Building.
On Campus: $14.00/hour
