Key Performance Areas
  1. Responding timeously to all call outs.
  2. Assessing health status of persons involved in accidents, natural disasters and other emergency situations.
  3. Monitoring changes in the health status of patients during transport to and from medical, rehabilitation and other health care facilities.
  4. Performing medical procedures/treatment at BLS level of training.
  5. Efficient and effective management of emergency medical and trauma calls as per company standards, policies and procedures.
  6. Recording information on patient's conditions and treatment on Patient Report Form (PRF).
  7. PRF completed correctly and accurately and submitted to call centre in due time.
  8. Driving emergency care vehicles.
  9. Safe operating of company vehicles and equipment as per company policies and procedures.
  10. Be able to inspire, motivate, develop and lead other staff to ensure efficient clinical and professional emergency medical care.
Job Requirements
  1. Current Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Basic Life Support (BLS).
  2. Must have a valid Code 10 driver's license, and PrDP, non negotiable.
  3. Minimum of 1 years' experience as BLS.
  4. Must have matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
  5. Ability to work effectively in a team.
  6. Ability to perform under high pressure situations.
  7. Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  8. Excellent telephonic/radio communication skills.
  9. Excellent communication skills with colleagues, hospital staff and Doctors.
  10. Flexibility to adapt and cope with changes at short notice.
  11. Strong administration skills with attention to detail.
  12. Must be PC literate - basic word, excel and e mail.
  13. Fluent in English. Any additional languages will be advantageous.
