Job Description

Deliver practical and theoretical bakery training covering bread, pastries, desserts, and other baked goods suitable for maritime hospitality environments.

Develop and implement training modules, lesson plans, and assessments tailored to the needs of trainees.

Mentor trainees on baking techniques, presentation, and quality control.

Evaluate trainee performance regularly and provide constructive feedback to ensure skill development and competence.

Ensure compliance with maritime food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.

Collaborate with other trainers to maintain a structured, high-quality training environment.

Foster a positive, professional, and motivating atmosphere that encourages learning and teamwork.

Act as a role model for professionalism, creativity, and excellence in baking within a maritime setting.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a professional Baker or Pastry Chef, with expertise in a variety of baking techniques.

Relevant baking or culinary qualifications/certifications.

Certified South African ID and must be based in Cape Town.

Strong communication, mentorship, and leadership skills.

Ability to teach both practical and theoretical concepts in a training environment.

Passion for teaching and developing the next generation of maritime culinary professionals.

Knowledge of maritime culinary standards is an advantage.
