Job Description

Job Purpose

The Control Centre CCTV Operator will be responsible for ensuring the effective monitoring of all cameras, promptly identifying and respond to security incidents, and maintaining a secure environment. The controller should possess excellent attention to detail, strong observational skills, vigilant individual and the ability to make quick and informed decisions. Additionally, experience with Eocortex & Axis, would be beneficial for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Emergency Response
    • Contact emergency or relevant emergency providers as needed.
    • Coordinate with security personnel and emergency responders during incidents.
  2. Incident Response
    • Respond promptly to security incidents by reacting to the situation and taking appropriate action.
    • Coordinate with security personnel and responders to address potential threats or breaches.
    • Maintain detailed incident logs and provide accurate and timely reports to the appropriate authorities.
  3. System Maintenance
    • Conduct regular checks on surveillance equipment, alarm systems, and monitoring systems to ensure proper functionality.
    • Report any malfunctions, faults, or irregularities to the designated technical support team and Control Centre manager.
  4. Documentation
    • Maintain accurate records of surveillance activities, incidents, and responses.
    • Generate detailed reports for management, summarizing daily activities and incidents.
  5. Surveillance Monitoring
    • Operate and monitor CCTV systems, including Exocortex & Axis to ensure the continuous observation of designated areas.
    • Detect and analyze suspicious activities or security breaches through surveillance cameras.
Requirements
  • Candidate must reside either in the Eersteriver, Macassar, Kuilsriver.
  • Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in Afrikaans and English.
  • Working hours will be 17h00 to 05h00.
  • Candidate must be ensure to have sober habits.
On the job requirements
  • Candidate must possess excellent communication abilities. The candidate must be able to effectively communicate with security personnel, law enforcement and other relevant parties during stressful and intense situations. The candidate must be able to remain clear headed during heated moments and must be able to make split second decisions.
  • The Candidate must be able to ensure compliance with the relevant laws, regulations and company policies related to surveillance activities. It is the candidate's responsibility to remain updated regarding industry trends and advancements in surveillance technology.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Candidate must have a minimum of PSIRA grade B security qualification.
  • The candidate must have 2 years of control room experience as well as 2 years of CCTV experience is needed for this role.
  • Please note if you live in the Eersteriver areas you must have your own transport.
