Overview

The Systems Administrator (sysadmin) is responsible for managing and maintaining the group of companies' computer systems and networks. Tasks and responsibilities associated with the role of the systems administrator:

Responsibilities
  • Server Management
    • Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software.
    • Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues.
    • Apply security patches and updates to servers regularly.
    • Perform backups and disaster recovery planning.
  • Network Administration
    • Set up and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
    • Configure and manage network protocols and services (e.g., DHCP, DNS, VPN).
    • Ensure network security and implement access controls.
  • User Account Management
    • Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and access levels.
    • Reset passwords and troubleshoot account-related issues.
    • Implement and enforce password policies and access controls.
  • Software Installation and Maintenance
    • Install, update, and maintain operating systems and software applications.
    • Ensure software licenses are compliant and up to date.
    • Troubleshoot software-related problems.
  • Security Management
    • Implement and enforce security policies and procedures.
    • Monitor systems for security breaches and respond to incidents.
    • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Storage Management
    • Manage storage solutions, including SANs (Storage Area Networks) and NAS (Network Attached Storage).
    • Allocate and optimize storage resources.
    • Implement data backup and recovery strategies.
  • Virtualization and Cloud Management
    • Deploy and manage virtual machines (VMs) and containers.
    • Monitor and optimize cloud resources (cloud services).
    • Implement cloud security best practices.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain documentation of system configuring
Requirements
  • Azure certifications - preferred, but not essential if Candidates have solid Azure hands on experience.
