Job Description
- Grade 12 or National Diploma in Library Science, Information Technology, or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification in Library and Information Science.
- Training facilitator accreditation an added advantage.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) & IT skills.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
- Skills & competencies: analytical thinking, empowerment, adaptability, communication, leadership, presentation, conflict and stress management, negotiation.
- In depth, hands on knowledge of authoring technologies, intranet design tools and multimedia applications.
- years of relevant experience within a public library environment, computer and technical support, and experience in computer literacy training.
- Provide technical, information technology & system support for the libraries' e Learning centre/digital library.
- Assist in training of staff and users in the effective use of technology and electronic resources.
- Provide one on one or small group training and support of e Learning system and computer literacy skills.
- Liaise with IT department regarding user problems related to e Learning centre, library network infrastructure and related equipment.
- Promote and coordinate effective management and development of electronic information resources and information technologies, including budgeting for e resources.
- General administration: report writing, filing, query response, telephone handling.
- Perform any other related ad hoc tasks and duties as requested by management.
