Asbestos Compliance/Technical Manager - London
Job Description
Our client is a well-established asbestos consultancy providing professional asbestos and environmental services to a nationwide portfolio of clients. They are currently recruiting for an experienced, knowledgeable and committed Asbestos Compliance/Technical Manager based in and around the London area. The successful applicant will have extensive experience carrying out compliance duties and audits as well as excellent technical industry knowledge and on site experience. Consideration will be given to applications from Romford, Harlow, Enfield, Dartford and the surrounding areas.
Key Requirements- Must have a strong asbestos industry background.
- Must hold a NEBOSH Health & Safety certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Will hold the P402/3/4 as a minimum.
- The ability to organise and prioritise workload.
- Knowledgeable in Health & Safety legislation and guidance with regards to asbestos and environmental services.
- Must be prepared to travel extensively.
- Communicate with clients professionally both written and verbally.
- Be flexible with the ability to work independently.
- Liaise with other team members to ensure all work is carried out within the times specified.
- Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package.
- Undertake Asbestos/Fire Risk/Health & Safety compliance duties on a variety of buildings - commercial, industrial and residential.
- Ensure a good level of technical and quality competence in all aspects recognised by external UKAS accreditation is maintained.
- Carry out and co ordinate audits, inspections and quality control - maintaining UKAS to ISO 17020 & ISO 17025 standard accreditation.
- Have the ability to oversee the company's quality/technical system and drive forward in improving and developing the technical side of the business.
- Sell specialist asbestos services across the UK - generate new business leads whilst managing existing accounts.
- Oversee fire plan drawings, fire drills, fire wardens, use of extinguishers, real fire training, briefings etc.
- Deliver presentations, training and fire action safety plans.
- Develop and maintain new and existing clients.
- Provide detailed technical reports - highlighting any remedial actions required.
- Identify fire related problems and provide solutions.
- Compile schematic drawings, documents and reports for clients.
- Provide recommendations and prices for remedial works.
- Routine control measures through quotations and work carried out and based on the risk assessments.
Overall the successful candidate will be well versed in all technical aspects of the asbestos industry as well as extensive knowledge of all relevant asbestos health and safety legislation and compliance procedures.
