Architectural Technologist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Architectural Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the planning, design, coordination, and documentation of diverse architectural projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with all relevant standards.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, develop, and modify detailed architectural drawings and technical documentation.
- Coordinate and integrate architectural design with structural, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines.
- Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, SANS standards, statutory requirements, and client specifications.
- Assist with building plan submissions and liaise with municipal authorities.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and surveys to support design development and resolve technical challenges.
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, and contractors throughout all project stages.
- Contribute to project quality assurance, detailing, and documentation close-out.
- National Diploma / Degree in Architectural Technology or equivalent qualification.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with SACAP will be advantageous.
- Minimum 2-5 years' experience in an architectural/engineering or construction environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is essential.
- Proficiency in ACC (Autodesk Construction Cloud) will be advantageous. Solid understanding of SANS building regulations, construction methods, and detailing.
- Experience in industrial projects is advantageous.
- Experience in the food and beverage industry and hygienic design practices will be advantageous.
- Strong technical drawing and detailing skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to project changes.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy and quality.
