Job Description

An established firm based in Pretoria is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Accountant/Tax practitionerwith 1-2 years' experience. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting, be a registered Tax Practitioner, and have practical experience working with Trusts and tax compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Capture and maintain accurate accounting records
  • Perform monthly reconciliations (bank, creditors, debtors)
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements
  • Prepare and submit tax returns (Individuals, Companies, and Trusts)
  • Ensure compliance with SARS regulations and deadlines
  • Administer Trust accounts, including:
    • Trust financial statements
    • Beneficiary allocations and distributions
    • Trust tax compliance and submissions
  • Liaise with clients and provide professional support
  • Assist with audits and year-end processes
  • Maintain proper filing systems and supporting documentation
  • Relevant Accounting qualification (Diploma or Degree)
  • Registered Tax Practitioner (essential)
  • 1-2 years' experience in an accounting firm or similar environment
  • Proven experience with Trusts (essential)
  • Strong understanding of tax compliance and SARS processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a pressurised environment
  • Good communication and client-facing skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Advantageous
  • Experience with software such as Sage, Xero, CaseWare or Pastel
  • Familiarity with SARS eFiling and CIPC submissions
