Accountant Supervisor

Join the Harvard House team as a Supervisor in the Accounting and Tax Department. • Leading, developing and mentoring staff
• Allocating clients, managing workflow and ensuring deadlines are met
• Monitoring and updating internal control lists
• Providing hands on technical guidance and training
• Conducting performance reviews with staff
• Attending to various staff and client queries, which may include researching technical topics and presenting practical solutions
• Managing SARS queries, including visits to SARS when required
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships, including attending client meetings
• On boarding new clients and completing related admin
• Reviewing:
  • Monthly VAT submissions
  • Annual Financial statements (trusts, CCs, companies and independent reviews)
  • Individual and corporate tax returns
• Working overtime during peak periods

• Newly qualified CA(SA), or eligible to register as a CA(SA)
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel and Word
• Strong digital proficiency and ability to quickly adapt to new software tools
• In depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and tax regulations
• Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic and constantly changing environment
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Focus on accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to manage pressure and meet deadlines
