Introduction

We are looking to recruit an Account Manager to join our Digital Marketing Team. This role will be based in Cape Town and report to the Digital Marketing Manager.

Job purpose:

To manage and oversee multiple digital advertising accounts, ensuring the seamless execution of campaigns from brief to delivery. This role ensures accuracy, timeliness, and measurable impact across all digital platforms, while building strong client relationships and maintaining brand consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of digital campaigns, from client briefing to campaign reporting.
  • Interpret client requirements into actionable digital briefs with clear KPIs, approved budgets, and timelines.
  • Develop and maintain campaign timelines across channels such as social media, paid search (Google Ads), programmatic display, email marketing, and e-commerce promotions.
  • Monitor live campaigns, troubleshoot issues (e.g., underperforming ad sets), and optimize for performance.

2. Workflow & Process
  • Open and manage digital job files, ensuring all campaign details (job numbers, specs, audience targeting, media placements, and deadlines) are documented.
  • Coordinate with creative teams to deliver digital-first assets (e.g., HTML5 banners, video ads,email, SMS, Whatsapp, social posts).
  • Manage approval workflows and ensure campaign assets are quality-checked before going live.

3. Creative & Technical Coordination
  • Source relevant examples, benchmarks, and competitor insights to support creative development.
  • Brief media and creative specifications for social, search, display, or video campaigns.
  • Ensure that tracking pixels, UTMs, and reporting dashboards are correctly implemented for campaign measurement.
  • Act as the primary client contact for digital campaigns, ensuring proactive communication and updates.
  • Prepare and present performance reports (CTR, CPC, CPM, conversions, ROI) with actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Document and circulate status updates, meeting notes, and digital campaign performance summaries.
  • Support, mentor, and manage Junior Account Managers on campaign tasks.
  • Collaborate closely with media planners, brand teams, performance analysts, creative teams, and developers to ensure flawless execution.
Job related Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, Programmatic, Email, SEO/SEM).
  • Knowledge and experience in CRM and Marketing automation platforms, i.e. Salesforce.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-channel digital campaigns end-to-end.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in Google Analytics, or similar dashboards.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive, solutions-driven approach.
Job related experience:
  • Essential: Minimum 5 years' experience in an advertising agency in an Account Manager / Client Service position
Education:
  • Essential: Matric or equivalent qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Desirable: Diploma / degree in advertising / marketing
