Overview

6042 Fixed-term Project Engineer: Medical Devices (P8)
RESEARCH, INNOVATION AND ENGAGEMENT Product Development Technology Station (PDTS)
Bloemfontein Campus

Main purpose

To assist the technology station in developing medical products through optimal management and craftsmanship. To assist with the day to day running of the PDTS. To ensure that products are designed and manufactured according to ISO 9001 quality management system.

Main tasks
  1. Medical Product Development
  2. Project Management
  3. Financial Management
  4. Quality and Risk Management
  5. Marketing and Liaison
  6. Manage Timesheets
  7. Record Keeping - Project files
  8. Intern Management

Minimum salary scale

Total Cost to Company: R per annum (2026 salary scales to be confirmed)

Accordingly, the preferred candidate may expect an offer that is in line with their qualifications and years of similar experience. Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience
  • B. Tech or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Four (4) years' experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Three (3) years' experience in medical product development.
  • One (1) year ISO quality management experience.
Desired Qualification, Knowledge and/or Experience
  • M. Tech. or equivalent degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Five (5) years' experience in medical product development.
  • Registration as Professional Technologist with ECSA.
  • Two (2) years' ISO quality management experience.
