1x Candidate Inspector (Re-advertisement)

Business Unit: Food & Associated Industries

Reporting To: Manager: Inspections (Operations)

CTC (Basic Salary): R 464,365.82 Per Annum

Purpose

To administer compulsory specifications and technical regulations on behalf of the Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition by monitoring compliance through inspections and/or evaluations.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor compliance with compulsory specifications and technical regulations.
  • Appropriate sanctions for non compliance.
  • Process applications for letters of certificates, sales permits and market surveillance inspections.
  • Maintain NRCS Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Manage stakeholder relationships.
Qualification / Experience
  • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Food Technology or a related Food Sciences qualification.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Will be required to undergo training for 18 - 24 months.
Knowledge

Sound knowledge of the NRCS Act; sound knowledge of the legislation and regulations related to the area of specialty which may include but is not limited to the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act, Customs Excise Act, Police Act, PFMA, PAJA, SANS, ISO, Consumer Protection Act, Trade Metrology Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, National Road Traffic Act; sound knowledge of risk assessments; knowledge of quality management systems; knowledge of inspection methods and processes; knowledge of evaluation methods and processes.

Behavioral Attributes

Report writing skills; ability to use judgement; problem solving; planning and organizing; action orientated; deadline driven; excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
